part time parental leave

Hi
I am getting ready for pregnancy. I would like to know how SGI has calculated if someone works part-time after delivery. I mean information refers to someone who takes complete parental leave. but what if I want to work let's say 30% after my pregnancy. how my SGI is calculated. let's assume my salary is 30000 sek per month

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your questions!

For one year after the birth of a child your qualifying income is protected. Your parental benefit is not affected if your qualifying income is lowered, even if you reduce your working hours.

After the child's first birthday you will need to actively protect your income to stop it from becoming lower if you become unemployed or start working less.

For more information on different situations related to SGI you can read here.
