Parental benefit

Hi dears,
 I have two children and currently Im receiving pa​rental benefit. ​can they go to preschool (15 hours per week) during this period?

  • Hello,

    The rules vary depending on whether you want to use days at the minimum level or at the sickness benefit level. If you are applying at the minimum level you can get parental benefit for a whole day even when your child is going to pre-school even when your child is going to pre-school for some hours per day.

    If you have sickness benefit qualifying income (SGI) you can not get parental benefit at higher level (sickness benefit level) for the time your child is at pre-school.

    Please contact your home municipality or the pre-school to know if your children can go to pre-school while you are on parental leave.
