Papa dag

In 2018 I had my daughter. I have a coordination number and was an asylum seeker at the time. There was no way I could have been registered to get benefit since I had coordination number. Almost 3 years down the road I still have coordination number even after getting a work permit of nearly 5 months. My registration is now in progress and I want to ask to get the money I loss in December period of 2018 that I was absent from work because my wife was on delivery bed. I have payslip that showed Papa dagen for the days I was work-absent. How can I go about applying for this almost 3 years down the line? Remember I have a good reason since I had coordination number and was then an asylum seeker with AT-UND to work from the Migration Board.

Secondly, can I take father's leave even now that my child is almost 3? I heard there is a 10 days to be home that I did not enjoy. Can I be home for 10 days with my child to achieve that?

Thank you!

  • Hello!

    Thank you for your post
The general rule is that the 10 days can be taken out within 60 days from returning home from the delivery. To be applied no more than 90 days from the first day you were home with the child. You can read more about 10 days here.

  • Hello!

Thank you for your post. You can apply for VAB for the day that you were home with the children because the ordinary caregiver was sick.
