Maternity after relocation

I will be relocated to Sweden from UK with company next month, the company is Swedish and is based in Sweden but I was working for UK department of this company in UK. I just found out that I am 2 weeks pregnant. Would I be eligible to maternity in Sweden right away when I give birth in Sweden? I will be receiving new contract from this employer. But working for them for 4 years already.

    Thank you for your post. In order to receive allowance and compensation from Försäkringskassan, you must be social insured in Sweden. Being insured in Sweden means that you are covered by the Swedish social insurance system and are entitled to various kinds of benefits, such as parental benefit.

    The general rule to receive parental benefit at sickness benefit level is that you must have had an annual income of at least SEK 82,100 for at least 240 consecutive days before the child was born.
    If you have worked fewer than 240 consecutive days before the child is born, you receive SEK 250 per day at sickness benefit level for the first 180 days that are taken out for the child.
