Low level days claiming

Hello

If I have 40 days left to use of my low level maternity days, and my child is in Grade 1 until June 2019, can I claim for example 30 days in a row and be home from work for these days, yet my daughter attend school still? Her hours are 08.35 to 15.05 at school. So she would be home with be prior to school staring and at the end of the day – can I still claim a full day of my low level days and be absent from work?
Thank you!

  • Hello,

If you are with the child for more than one-eighth of the working day, you can apply for a full day of parental benefit at the minimum level. You can find more information here.

If your child was born before 1 January 2014, you can take out parental benefit up to and including the day the child has finished their first year in compulsory school. If your child turns 8 years old after the end of school, you can take out parental benefit up to and including the day the child turns 8.

Many thanks for the reply.  If I advise my employer more than 2 months in advance, can they decline my days off?
    Thank you!
